Considering the fact that the business got its commence in Bologna, Italy, Mario was influenced by a statue erected in the city’s Piazza Maggiore in the 16th century (through Mermaids of Earth). The Fountain of Neptune (aka “The Huge”) is a looming statue of the Roman god of the sea. He holds a trident in his appropriate hand, though his left extends outward to serene the waters. Below him are 4 cherubs, just about every representing the rivers Nile, Amazon, Danube, and the Ganges. The masterpiece was designed by Flemish sculptor Jean de Boulogne (aka Giambologna) among 1563 and 1567.
The statue of bronze and stone arrives with an intriguing and controversial legend. Commissioned by Pius IV to symbolize his electrical power and reign, the Pope turned worried by the sizing of the statue’s genitals and ordered Giambologna to make them lesser. The sculptor begrudgingly complied, or so absolutely everyone thought. If you stand behind and to the statue’s appropriate, Neptune’s thumb protrudes out past his leg in a peculiar way that will make the god’s manliness surface even larger.
All that apart, Mario noticed the Trident as a mythological symbol of toughness and vigor. The purple and blue hues that adorned the initial logo derived from Bologna’s town banner, and the rest, as they say … is historical past.
