Prepear, which has been embroiled in a trademark dispute with Apple for nearly 6 months, on Tuesday said it settled the issue by transforming the shape of a leaf in its symbol.

The remedy, it appears, is a slightly tweaked symbol. Prepear has altered the form of a leaf in its pear emblem to make it visually unique from Apple’s legendary mark. The developer will use the revised symbol in its emblem and application icon.
Apple very first aired grievances over the app’s emblem when it formally objected to a trademark application from meal planning business Tremendous Wholesome Kids past August. The mark is a straightforward define of a pear with a singular almond-shaped leaf. Apple argued the design and style far too intently resembled its “well known Apple Logo” and “creates a similar professional perception.”
Prepear later accused Apple of participating in “bullying” techniques that charge the business “several 1000’s of dollars” and resulted in the layoff of at least 1 employee. Monson appealed to the community with a petition to “conserve the pear” and “finish Apple’s aggressive opposition of enterprises with fruit logos.”
“Apple has been opposing little corporations with fruit-connected logos by starting up high priced authorized motion even when those logos never look nearly anything like Apple’s symbol, or are not in the identical line of small business as Apple at all,” the petition examine.
