2021 Tata Safari is the new flagship SUV from Tata Motors. It is going to be a direct rival to the likes of MG Hector Plus and the upcoming Hyundai Creta seven-seat SUV.

Variants and pricing
2021 Safari has been launched in six trims namely – XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+. Moreover, Tata has also announced a new ‘Adventure Persona’ trim which is placed at the very top of the line at ₹20.20 lakh (ex-showroom) for manual and ₹21.45 lakh (ex-showroom) for the automatic version.

The Tata Safari boasts a number of alluring features such as biggest in segment Panoramic Sunroof, Electronic Parking Brake with auto-hold function, Powered Driver Seat, Automatic Headlamps, Rain Sensing Wipers, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and much more.

New interior colour
Inside, the 2021 Tata Safari gets a new Ashwood dashboard, Oyster white colour theme, and three rows of stadium-style seating.

Interior and layout
On the inside, the new Safari features a familiar layout for the dashboard. There is the same semi-digital instrument console as found on the Harrier. There is also a floating type 8.8-inch touch screen infotainment system available which sits in the middle of the dash. Moreover, it also gets leather wrapping on the steering wheel and gear knob, contributing to the cabin’s richer look.

Six and seven-seat configuration
The new Safari will be available in both six and seven-seat configuration. There will be a dedicated captain seat setup available as an option on the top-of-the-line trim.

Longer length, more room
The new Safari sports a longer length in comparison to its donor model. The designers have extended the rear overhang on the SUV, enabling the company to carve out more cabin space on the inside.

Distinctive tail
While the front fascia looks Harrier-inspired, the rear section features distinctive taillights, a new tailgate with upright rear glass, and a more aggressive looking bumper.

Impact 2.0 design inspiration
The new Tata Safari comes based on Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language.
It is basically a longer version of Harrier and gets a very familiar front fascia look. The headlamps look exactly the same as the Harrier’s and so do the front main grille and sleek high mounted LED DRLs.
